Terms of Service

A. Introduction

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the PuzzleGym website, applications, and our Discord bot (“PuzzleBot”), together the “Service”. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

B. The Service

PuzzleGym provides online logic puzzles and related features, including leaderboards, statistics, multiplayer puzzle races, and games and commands offered through our Discord bot. We may add, change, or remove features at any time.

C. Accounts

  1. Some features require an account. You may register directly or by logging in with a third-party provider (such as Google, Facebook, or Discord).
  2. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
  3. You must provide accurate information and be old enough to use the Service under the laws of your country and, where applicable, under Discord’s Terms of Service.

D. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  1. use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms or any applicable rules, including the Discord Terms of Service and Community Guidelines;
  2. attempt to cheat, manipulate scores or leaderboards, or otherwise interfere with the normal operation of the Service;
  3. abuse, harass, or harm other users;
  4. attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other accounts, or our systems, or disrupt the Service (for example through excessive automated requests).

E. Discord bot (PuzzleBot)

  1. PuzzleBot is provided to Discord communities to play games, run puzzle races, view statistics, and manage a supporter (“Patron”) role. Server administrators are responsible for how the bot is used within their servers.
  2. PuzzleBot reads message content only to operate its commands and games, and reads server membership only to manage the Patron role. Our handling of this data is described in our Privacy Policy.
  3. You may remove the bot from a server at any time. Its use is also subject to Discord’s terms and policies.

F. Supporter subscriptions

  1. We may offer optional paid supporter (“Patron”) subscriptions that provide benefits such as the removal of advertisements and a supporter role. Payments are processed by third-party providers (such as PayPal or the applicable app store).
  2. Subscriptions and any refunds are subject to the terms of the payment provider used. You are responsible for managing or cancelling your subscription through that provider.

G. Intellectual property

The Service, including its puzzles, software, and content, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by applicable laws. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not copy, distribute, or create derivative works from the Service except as permitted by law or with our written consent.

H. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.

I. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service.

J. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time if you violate these Terms or if we discontinue the Service. You may stop using the Service at any time.

K. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time by publishing a new version on this page. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
